Death Valley

22:00:00

¡Buenas noches!

Good night! Today I continue with my explanation of my road trip to the West Coast of USA. After our adventure in Yosemite, our next stop was Death Valley National Park, the hottest place of United States where the temperature reaches 50 grades.

Before to start our trip, we decided to buy something, because the park recommends to carry 3 or 4 liters of water per person and full the tank, because in the park there is only a petrol station and the price of the fuel is very expensive.

When you are going to Death Valley, you can see that the landscape changes, leaving behind the green landscape and approaching to a desert. In addition, you can see that the temperature raises little by little.

Our first stop was to take the typical picture with the sign of the entering in the National Park.

We continued until we find Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes that are a beautiful dunes of white sand.

After that, we went to Furnace Creek Visitor Center where you can find maps of the park and they explain you the different visits that you can do in the park. Near here, there is a resort where we stopped to eat something.

After eating something, we went to Badwater Basin. This is the lowest point of the United States where you're 86 meters under the sea level. The most amazing thing of this place is that you do a hole in the ground, water flows, but this water is bad. We did a walk a few minutes, but it was so hot, 48 grades, and we couldn't arrive at the end.

When you go out of the car, you feel a hot that burns the skin. In addition, the air is so hot that when you breath it is like it burns your throat. Then, when you enters in the car, you need to drink water, because your throat is dry. It's a very suffocating sensation.

Next that, we decided to see the Artist's Palette that it's a canyon that the oxidation has created capes in the land of different colors and it's very striking to see.

Our next stop was the Golden Canyon that it's a canyon of golden color that you can enter inside.

Then, we went to Zabriskie Point that it's a view point where you can enjoy of the waves of the rocks that forms the Death Valley.

The last point of our tour was Dante's View that I recommend you to visit if you go to Death Valley, because you can see from above Badwater Basin and you have an amazing views of Death Valley.
